Good riddance Microsoft 2010-04-06 The iMAC desktop is everything it promised. It looks great, has a brilliant screen, fast, integrated software, and my office is now free of the tower and cables and clutter of my old Dell PC. I grew to hate MS and would never go back now.
BREATHTAKING! 2010-04-01 I have been a laptop owner since I sold my PC back in 2004. I converted to Apple in 2008 buying myself the Macbook. I progressed to a Macbook Pro and now I am on this beast - the iMac 27"! Firstly, the Apple OS - Snow Leopard is simply awesome. Anyone think about making the jump, I strongly encourage you to; everything you can do on a PC you can do on a Mac...and more intuitively! The iMac is beautiful piece of hardware. One cable that plugs into the electrical wall socket and press the "on" button and within minutes you are on the desktop. If like me, you have already a user-account with "stuff", then the Mac will transfer it and your desktop is like your old one with all your applications, files and passwords carried over...simple! The Magic Mouse is a step forward in the mouse evolution and once again...intuitive to use! Why do you think Apple products come with very little "instruction manuals"? Because they are design from a blank piece of paper into a final product to be intuitive - the iMac continues this tradition. In summary, you will not be disappointed in investing in this product. It is beautiful, robust, powerful and easy to use.
Second Chance 2010-03-23 This is a replacement for my first ever purchase of a Mac. The 1st one lasted about 2 weeks,the fan noise became far to noisy to enjoy using it.(i have not left a review for that one) Amazon gave me the option to replace or take a refund.After a couple of days thought I opted to give Apple another chance and ordered a replacement.Amazon duly obliged with there great service. I am so glad I did,the replacement Mac is Great. Having made the move from PC to Mac you can imagine how disappointed I was with the first one. I purchased the one with the TB hard drive because I was convinced I could not live without a PC.I also bought windows 7 to install and have the choice between the the two. As i am not a great gamer I have not missed Windows at all . I decided not to install windows on the Mac and have now sold Windows 7. I now have a computer that looks and performs great.
The best computer I've ever had 2010-03-18 It is expensive, yep, but definitely worth it. Think about 4 Windows PCs in one (or 2 GNU/Linux that work without nights of terminal input and setup). Hyper-fast booting, very responsive even while working with big images/videos and having tons of tabs or apps open, nice screen resolution (1920x1080), enough to work comfortably in Photoshop and other design software. I got the 21.5 inches because the 27 was way too much for my room (it's more than 60cm wide). The wireless keyboard and magic mouse are incredibly useful and well designed. And it has 4 USB which is enough (keyboard and mouse don't use USB). The only disadvantage I find is the weight of it, it is quite heavy and hard to carry from one place to another (shouldn't be often so that's fine). Oh, and that the magic mouse hasn't got middle click (I've heard you can emulate it somehow). I also wonder how long will the keyboard and mouse batteries last, it's a pain to keep changing them every now and then. I'm in love again!
It Works 2010-03-04 Having spent years using a pc I purchased a Apple I Mac,what a difference. It works straight out of the box, wireless internet connected in seconds no drivers to download it just worked. Connect printers etc same result they work. No anti virus scanner running in the background slowing everything down. I added Apple I Works 09 and it has every office feature that I need and it works with Microsoft Office. I also added Aperture 3, if you are in to photography then I can also recommend this, works better than Lightroom and easier to use. Excellent product also saved £100 buying from Amazon.
